Without further delay, here’s an update on a unique Lodi restaurant that will be closing its doors soon.
Dano’s Heuriger on Seneca in Lodi βˆ’ about 12 miles northwest of Trumansburg βˆ’ will serve its last meal on Dec. 1.
The husband-and-wife team of Dano Hutnik and Karen Gilman opened the Austrian restaurant, housed in a contemporary building on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake, in 2005.
Its idyllic setting encompasses an herb garden, a dining room with high ceilings that show off Gilman’s colorful artwork as well as huge windows that offer a panoramic view of the hillside and the lake.

Cornell University is hosting two music events of its own this Saturday. Starting at 3 p.m., the Cornell Chamber Orchestra will play a free show at the university’s Barnes Hall.
At 7 p.m., a free showing from Cornell Jazz Ensemble will feature vocalist Sara Gazarek with arrangements from the Great American Songbook.
If you’re not a fan of classical or jazz, perhaps cat videos are more your fancy. Cornell Cinema will host CatVideoFest 2024 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the SPCA of Tompkins County.
